That was a real thought because I did not understand internet traffic at the time.

But eventually, overtime I became more knowledgeable and more skillful in generating traffic and I now have the ability to generate massive amounts of traffic to any site I want to. And I'm talking about thousands of visitors a day here, all for free.

Once you get a good understand of how each one of the best free traffic methods works, you can use them appropriately to your advantage to drive massive amounts of traffic to your blog.

Lets look at the best ways to get traffic to your blog for free.

All blog owners need traffic for their blogs, as much of it as possible, because we need people to come to our site to consume our content and allow us to achieve the goals we set for our blogs. Unfortunately however you cannot just setup a blog and expect loads of traffic to flow to it without taking necessary action for boosting the traffic level of your blog.

Having good relevant content on your blog is very important, but your content would not mean anything unless it's getting enough visitors consistently to check it out.

If you are not getting any traffic yet for your blog or you are not getting the volume of traffic that you want, there are a number of things you can do to boost your blog's traffic, so that you can build your audience and get your blog to reach the level of success you want. Below I list the best ways to get traffic to your blog for free.

1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

The best free way to get traffic to your blog is focusing on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for your site. SEO is the practice of improving and promoting a website or blog in order to increase the number of visitors the site receives from search engines.

There are a number of factors that affects the position of a blog's pages in search engines for keywords related to it's content, which in turn affects how much search engine traffic the blog will get. Therefore, the higher your blog appear in the search engine results pages for the keywords that you are targeting the more traffic you'll get to your site.

By performing SEO for your blog you can get it to rank higher in the various search engines, which would increase the visibility of your blog and boost the number of visitors it gets.

The various aspects of a blog normally addressed by SEO includes but not limited to the blog's content, keyword usage, other sites and web pages linking to it, and how ethical the blog's practices are seen by the search engines.

2. High Quantity Of Content

As I said, SEO greatly affects how much traffic you will get from search engines, but if you have only a minimal amount of content on your blog, this will result in the search engines having fewer content from your site to index. The result of this is a lower level of traffic for your blog.

Therefore, if you are getting only a few hits at a time to your blog from search engines, it means that your blog is already indexed and the search engines have recognized it. But what you need to do is increase the quantity of content on your blog by adding more keyword-optimized posts that can get indexed properly and get to high positions in the SERPs.

To put it simple, the more posts you have on your blog that is appearing high in search results for specific keywords, the higher your traffic stats will be.

This is actually one aspect of SEO, and it have to be combined with other essential components of SEO in order to get good results, such as having other sites linking to yours (backlinks) and avoiding violating the search engine rules.

But besides the SEO benefit, having lots of good content on your website or blog also helps build your audience and increase your site's popularity more quickly. We'll discuss more about that under the following heading.

3. Make Your Content Rich And Interesting

One of the things that greatly affect the success of any blog is the quality and appeal of it's content.

Internet users love to share things around. Whether it's on social networking sites, forums or blogs - it's a norm for people to share content they read, listened to or looked at around the web to their friends and contacts.

But the only time people would be urged to share your site's content is when they find it informative, entertaining or just having good value. For that reason, it's crucial to ensure that your content is of good quality and interesting to visitors.

Factors that'll affect the quality and appeal of the content on your blog include originality, accuracy of the information, and proper spelling and grammar. You also want to create content that focuses on subject matters that people will find interesting enough to be influenced to share it.

By creating quality content that people can engage with, they will be driven to share it with other folks online, which will result in an increase of exposure for you and more visitors to your blog overtime.

Another important benefit of getting people to like and share the content on your blog is the positive impact it'll have on SEO.

The more natural backlinks that's out in the web pointing to your site, the better your rankings will be in the search engines, because getting backlinks this way makes the search engines see your site as having good popularity and internet appeal - they will increase your rankings as a result of that.

The more natural backlinks you get, the higher your rankings will become which will result in a higher volume of traffic to your blog.

4. Make Use Of Opportunities To Promote And Increase Your Site's Presence Online

There are many different places online that allows you to promote your website or blog, increase your online presence and attract traffic. You should make time to utilize these platforms to get your site's name and url out there.

Such platforms include other blogs and websites that allow you to make comments at the end of their posts and include your url along with your name or signature. Other platforms to promote your blog include article submission sites, video sharing sites, social networking sites and forums.

These are all places on the internet that allows you to interact with other people, post information that's related to your own site, and most importantly get backlinks to your blog which will increase visitors and help SEO. Or, at least you'll start seeing the possibilities of your blog becoming a meaningful site online in the near future. The following are some of the things that you should focus on that'll help improve your level of skills in blogging.

1. Seek Information And Put Them Into Practice Quickly

It's obvious when you don't know how to do something that you have to look for information to find out how it's done. But it's also very important to put the information you get into practice quickly. While you do need to spend enough time taking in information to get new insights and ideas, implementation of what you learn is the key to making progress.

2. Keep A Record Of All Your Ideas

A huge part of blogging is taking your own ideas and creatively implementing them into your blog. But don't just pay attention to the ideas you think make sense to you at the moment. Record as much ideas as possible that come into your mind. You can always modify your ideas to make them more suitable to work with, or you may be able to implement your ideas much easier in the future.

3. Keep Trying New Things Out

Do not not allow your blogging efforts to be restricted to just your present level of skills. Always keep consistently pushing to get over the barriers by trying to do stuffs that you never did before or don't have a lot of knowledge about.

Many aspects of blogging may appear to be very technical at first, but when you get the experience of doing them a few times you'll realize that they are no big deal. Many highly successful bloggers started out without having any knowledge or skills in blogging, but eventually became professionals later on, largely due to testing and trying things out.

4. Pay Careful Attention To The Effects Of Your Updates And Changes

Whenever you change or do something new for your blog, monitor and pay attention to the results that are produced. This is a great way to find out what works and what doesn't for your blog's growth.

It's easy to get carried away making updates and changes everyday to your blog and forget to take note of the exact impact they have on your blog. Try to avoid this as much as possible by remembering to monitor your changes and updates. Also, you want to stick to doing things that are contributing to your blog's growth, but make sure to accurately conclude what works from what doesn't by patiently making accurate analysis.

5. Always Recheck Your Posts To Make Improvements

Your blog's posts are the most important aspect of your blog. You'll benefit greatly if you develop the habit of occasionally going back and making improvements to your posts as well as taking notice of the impact they are having on your traffic level and your site's visitors. Re-visiting your posts from time to time will not only make all of your old posts be up to good standards, you'll also be able to write and structure better posts in the future.

6. Look At Your Failures And Mistakes As Teachers

It's inevitable when you are into blogging that you'll do certain things that are incorrect or doesn't bring any good or anticipated results. Some of these efforts may even take up a lot of your time and energy. But instead of giving in to frustration or discouragement when your performances don't work out as you want them to, look at your failures and mistakes as important elements of increasing your knowledge that will lead you to become a more skillful blogger.

5 Reasons Why I Like Creating Blogs On Blogger

Creating a blog on blogger.com has been one of my first experiences with blogging and creating websites. Even though years have past since, and I presently have blogs on other blogging platforms including paid domain and hosting, I continue to blog seriously with blogspot blogs, and I don't believe that this will ever stop as long as Google continue to provide this service. Here's my reasons why....

1 It's Very Simple To Setup And Manage Blogs

Blogger is very user-friendly and there is nothing about setting up and managing blogs from the control panel that is complicated at all. Once you have the idea and name ready for your new blog, you simply have to log into your blogger account, and you can have a blog created in as little as 2 minutes. Equally, posting content, customizing your blogs and doing other things to control the look and features of your blogs are straight-forward and easy.

2. It's Reliable

I have never experience anyone of my blogs on blogger failing or having downtime no matter the quantity and type of content I had on them. I also have never experienced any major technical problems from the control panel that was a set back for me.

I have a blogspot blog I created years ago and I can't recall a day that it was ever down or unaccessable to visitors. Your blog may get banned or deleted if it violate the rules, but from my experience, blogger service is excellent when it comes to not having technical problems or downtime.

3. It's Easy To Optimize Your Blogs To Get Traffic From Google

There is not a lot of difficulty in optimizing your blog on blogger for getting traffic from Google. Because blogger is actually part of Google, this may make blogspot blogs have a way up when it comes to getting Google traffic.

As a blog admin, your main duties to get your site to receive traffic is to basically choose the right keywords, posts good content, get a few quality backlinks and make sure that you don't violate Google's webmaster rules. Once you do that, you'll be getting lots of juicy traffic from Google for your blog on blogger.

4. It's Integrated With Google Plus

I read recently that Google Plus has grown to become the second biggest social networking website online, falling below Facebook only. Which means it has surpassed even Twitter. The fact that blogger is integrated with Google Plus is a great thing for people who have blogs on blogger.

I am able to easily share my blogs posts on Google Plus with just one click. Not only does this allow me to easily share my blogs content with connections on Google Plus, anyone who is searching for content from Google Plus that is related to my blog's posts can discover my sites in search results. As a result, I get followers to my account and traffic to my blogs from Google Plus very easily.

5. It's 100% Free To Use

Blogger is 100% free to use to set up blogs, and you are allowed to set up a number of blogs from one account. They also do not consistently bother you to upgrade to a paid domain like some other free blogging platforms, neither do they place ads in every area of the control panel to distract you. As a result, you can work on your blogs at anytime and have your blogs for as long as you want without feeling like you owe someone for using the service.

So there it is, my top 5 reasons why I like using blogger.com to create blogs online to share information I am interested in and passionate about with the world. Having blogs set up on paid domain and hosting has a number of benefits true, but blogger provides the opportunity to have a great blogging experience without having to pay a fee.

This is especially good for people who want to start blogging and are not ready or able to pay for domain and hosting. But no matter who you are, once you are interested in sharing information with other people online, having at least one blogspot blog is something you may need to hold on to.

Welcome To The Increase Key On Blogspot

Welcome to my blog name The Increase Key. As a blogger I know the strong desire that blog site owners have for their blogs to gain good levels of online success. Whether it's getting traffic, building relationships with readers or getting an income we all want to see our blogs reach the good level of success that we anticipated.

However, I continually observe that a large number of people start blogs and do not get it to sprout up to the point where they have a good reason to continue giving their blog dedicated attention. Therefore, they abandon their blogs and forget all about it.

I always come across pretty awesome blogs with interesting subject matters and good content that would be great for people to consume, but unfortunately it appears like traffic to these sites are minimal and it's clear that the creators have not given these blog sites any updates or attention for ages.

Commitment Is Important To Succeed In Blogging

Honestly, I've been blogging long enough and set up enough blogs to know that you cannot succeed as a blogger if you allow yourself to easily lose patience and diminish your efforts in building up your blog. The key to getting your blog to become successful online is sticking to growing your blog no matter how many mistakes you make along the way or how long it take to get your blog to be where you want it to be.

Building up a blog to get lots of traffic, establish a loyal audience and start making you earn a substancial income can be very tricky. And the only way you can make these things happen with your blog is by continuing to learn, develop ideas and hone your skills in all the various areas of blogging.

Are you ready to make your blog grow online? lets do it!
